Meet The Team

Jill Shelton Wagers, DMD

Dentist

Jill Shelton Wagers is a fifth generation Idahoan and a second generation dentist.

Back in 1996 she married the Idaho Candy Company owner, Dave Wagers, and they get a lot of grief being the candyman/dentist combination. They have three children, Kade, Savannah, and Delaney who keep them busy, worrying and laughing.  Generally in that order.

Jill got her early education very close to the dental office at Jackson Elementary, West Jr. High, and Borah High School.  She then headed to University of Puget Sound (go Loggers) and received her dental degree from Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry. She was able to go "east" to Denver, Colorado for a general practice residency program before returning home to Boise.

Jill joined the John S. Kriz, DDS show in 1995, had Duston Connaughton join them in 2003, and enjoyed sharing the responsibilities with both until John retired in 2007 and Duston moved next door in 2013.

She feels she found her calling in dentistry as she enjoys meeting and befriending new people, the arts and crafts of creating and fixing teeth, and getting to work with the amazing human body.

She loves to chat, can hold a one sided conversation well but is also versed in deciphering numb-mouth mumble!

Outside of dentistry and family, Jill keeps busy reading, spending time in the mountains (especially around Cascade Lake), staying physically active hiking, skiing, playing with our office support dog and new puppy, Spuddy and Gemma, and tries to appreciate all the blessings in her life.  Maybe over a glass of wine with friends...

She says she is truly lucky to work and play in the fabulous profession of dentistry, feels honored to work with her wonderful patients and is grateful for her amazing team.

Joce

Office Manager

Joce grew up in Preston, Idaho and moved to the Boise area when she was 16. She has been in the dental field since 2016 and joined our team in May of 2022. She loves the atmosphere of hard work, and she loves meeting new people. Making her a perfect addition to our office.

When not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband Charley, and their dog, Mochi. She also enjoys cooking, rafting, traveling, and being outdoors.

Julie

Dental Hygienist

Julie was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended Jr. High, High School and College in Pocatello. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Idaho State University in 1995 and a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Oregon Health Sciences University in 1998. She has been happily employed at Boise Bench Dentistry since 2002, and has quite a following here!  She can chat and guide you through your cleaning like it is a visit with a friend.

Julie has been happily married to Nick since 2002. They are the blessed parents of 2 beautiful children, Isabella and Dominic, and an adorable puppy, Gus. Julie and Nick enjoy spending every spare moment with their children and dog and they attend every Boise State football game possible. Go Broncos!

Audrey

Dental Hygienist

Audrey grew up in Wenatchee, Washington.  She moved to Boise in 2007 and worked as a dental assistant for 4 years before graduating with her associates degree in Dental Hygiene from Carrington College in Boise 2013.

Her husband, Adrian Rothenbuhler, moved to Boise from Switzerland (and has that wonderful accent!!).  They were married in 2008 and are the proud parents of two adorable little boys named Wesley and Oliver, along with two dogs named Lola and Toby.  All four are full of energy and never a dull moment at their house.  Audrey is full of great stories- she loves getting to know her patients and hopes to make you feel like family when you come to see her.

Lorena

Dental Hygienist

Lorena has been in the dental field since 2007; she started as an assistant, then decided to further her education and become a RDA earning her Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene degree.

She and her husband Eric have two wonderful boys. Easton, is a football fanatic with a passion for all things sports. Blake, loves WWE and enjoys practicing his wrestling moves on his older brother. Together they love traveling, being outdoors and anything competitive in nature!

Lee Ann

Dental Assistant

Lee Ann graduated in May 2003 from American Institute of Health Technology and has been part of the practice since February 2019.  She is a Boise native and is proud of it!  She enjoys the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. In June 2016, she married Sam and is most proud of her 2 children, MaLia and Lorenzo.  Her son Lorenzo has recently decided to move forward with a military career and join the United States Navy.  Lee Ann’s most rewarding aspect of her dental assisting career is making a difference in someone’s life with something as small as a smile.

Desia

Dental Assistant

Desia grew up in Mountain Home, Idaho. She knew she wanted to work in dentistry at 8 years old. She graduated from the College of Southern Idaho Dental Assisting Program in 2021 and joined our team in January of 2023.

In Desia's free time, she enjoys spending time with her wife Daisy, their dog, Zuko, and their cat, Spooky. She also enjoys paddle boarding, hiking, and traveling.

Spuddy

Emotional Support Dog

Hi I'm Spuddy, the office emotional support dog. My mom is Dr. Jill Wagers.  I am an 11-year-old hypoallergenic golden doodle that found the perfect job. I have a very calm nature and just love to be around people all of the time. My favorite thing about working in the office is walking around and meeting all of the patients. I love to get attention and be pet/loved on. Dr. Jill also says that I have very good teeth, so you will find me showing them off with a big smile and a tail wag.

I am available by request. If you would like to meet me or have me in the room during your cleaning, exam, or procedure please let a member of the crew know. I look forward to meeting you all soon.

Gemma

Emotional Support Dog

Meet Gemma! Spuddy's "little sister" and our office emotional support animal trainee. Gemma, like Spuddy, is a golden doodle. That means she does not shed, and she is hypoallergenic. Although she is a little bit smaller than Spuddy, she can happily reach your hand while in the dental chair for a reassuring scratch and pat. She's sure to win you over with her sweet disposition and lovely brown eyes and looks forward to meeting you on Spuddy's off time.
